NY Jury Awards $7 Million for Missed Diagnosis of Pancreas Problem
A New York jury has ordered Westchester County Medical Center to pay $7 million to the family of a mother of three in a fatal malpractice case.
The family of Theresa Capwell alleged she died nearly a year after doctors failed to diagnose inflammation of her pancreas, said the family’s attorney. A jury agreed after a three-and-a-half-week trial, awarding $3 million to Capwell’s three daughters, and $4 million to her husband.
Medical malpractice claims are one of the most difficult areas of litigation, since the negligent action must be documented and proven within specific guidelines. Only a skilled medical malpractice attorney has the experience and resources to thoroughly investigate and prosecute your case.
