village located in Broome
County, in the state's
Southern Tier region.
Situated 180 miles northwest of New York
City,
and 75 miles south of Syracuse,
NY, Johnson City
lies near the confluence of the Chenango and
Susquehanna Rivers. Interstate highways 81, 17, and
88 all intersect near the village, making it an

Considered part of the Greater Binghamton
Metropolitan Area, Johnson City offers small town

census placed the population at 15,535, while
