Delhi,
New York lies in the heart of lovely Delaware
County, said to be one of the most beautiful
counties in the state. Sitting on the western slopes
of the awesome Catskill
Mountains, Delaware County shines as an
outdoorsman's paradise. From downhill skiing and
snowmobiling in the winter, to some of the finest
trout fishing in the region, the county offers
something for everyone.Delhi
serves as the county seat to this rustic, natural
region. Located at the junction of Routes 10 and 28,
with Interstate 88 near by, Delhi residents have
quick access to both New York's Capital
District and the metropolitan area of Binghamton.
The glitter and glamour of New
York City itself is only a three-hour drive. The
Capital District is a four county region whose main
cities are Albany,
Saratoga
Springs, Schenectady
and Troy.
The
2000 census reported Delhi's population as 4,629.
The State University of New York College
of Technology opened its doors in Delhi in 1913.
Today, it draws almost 2,000 students each year from
around the state. The Delaware
Academy and Central School repeatedly graduates
Regent Scholarship winners.
Delhi,
NY is the center of commerce for the region. With
quaint shops and boutiques as well as a shopping
mall, an assortment of restaurants and two banks,
most residents feel no need to leave their pristine
area. A wide range of health care providers along
with alternative medicine practitioners practice
here.
Lovely
Delaware County is rapidly being discovered by the
