Chenango Bridge, New
York, a hamlet included in the town of Chenango, is located in the picturesque rolling hills of
Broome
County. Chenango Bridge lies directly on State Road 7, approximately eight miles from the thriving metropolis of
Binghamton.
Established in 1791, the Town of Chenango was one of the original settlements within Broome County. It includes the communities of Castle Glen, Kattelville, West Chenango, Castle Creek and Chenango Bridge. The 2000 Census counted the population at 11,454. The town covers an area of more than thirty-four square miles. The third largest town in the county, it nestles on the western shore of the lovely
Chenango
River. The gracious rolling hills of Chenango River Valley lie to the west.
Five scenic
parks grace Chenango Town, including Wolfe Park, which offers eighty-two acres of rugged scenic beauty, including a waterfall and nature trails.
