$166,000 Awarded To Woman Injured By Drunk Driver
Georgia Gainesvilletimes.com reports a Hall County jury has awarded $166,000 to a 57-year-old woman who suffered serious injuries in a car crash caused by a drunk driver in 2007.
The drunk driver’s Tahoe struck a Honda Civic with such force it was knocked into the woman’s PT Cruiser, causing an open compound fracture to her ankle. She continues to have pain and loss of motion in that ankle. The passengers in the Honda were also injured — one had to be airlifted to a hospital.
The drunk driver had only minimum insurance which went to the family in the Honda. The injured woman had underinsured motorist coverage but chose to let the jury decide the amount she should receive for her injuries.
