Fatal Hit-and-Run Car Accident in New York

A man in his 20s died after an early morning car crash on Sunday in Rochester near the Strong Hospital complex, a spokesperson from the Rochester Police Department said.

The two-vehicle crash occurred in the intersection of Casselman Road and Rossiter Road, leaving the driver of a Saturn SUV pinned and trapped inside the vehicle. He later died at Strong Hospital.

The police have not yet located the driver of the second vehicle who fled the scene which was traveling west on Rossiter before the crash. Physical evidence left at the scene has police on the lookout for a dark-colored sedan with damage to the front end.

There were no witnesses to the crash due to the late hour and the accident occurring on a quiet, residential street. The accident occurred at 2 a.m.
The police department’s special-accidents investigators are helping to gather more information on the second vehicle involved in the accident.
